One Drop Forward – Won’t Shut Up

One Drop Forward – Promises

One Drop Forward – Take Me Ganja

One Drop Forward were initially formed in 1991, in their hometown, Thessaloniki. After a decade of experimenting, the band eventually finds itself consisting of it’s steady members, born in the period between the late 60s to the mid 80s, active in One Drop Forward up to now.

Their music has travelled for miles and miles, as they ‘ve performed in many different places inside the Greek borderline as well as out of it.

Their recording debut came in 2004, with a “split” album along with the band Laternativa. Since then, three more independent productions were completed and released. The most recent one, their album “Bird on a fence”, was first presented in June of 2015. Their recorded music’s distribution takes place at their live concerts, but it is also at everyone’s disposal through their site www.onedropforward.gr, with free downloading.

As every living thing, we live in the present, evolving through contradictions and compositions, with musical and creative dispute, undisputedly agreeing on our view of the current social standards being completely outdated, while keeping alert “inna world dat’s changing”…

Discography:

In March of 2004, four tracks are recorded by One Drop Forward and produced by Professor Skank, at the “Jam” studios in Thessaloniki. Later the same year, these tracks are released in a “split” album, along with tracks of the band “Laternativa”. Amongst them is our hit track “Take me ganja”, with over 5 million views on Youtube up until today. The song has been covered by local bands in China, Morocco, Malaysia and Pakistan and has been used as a soundtrack for an Indian documentary.

Copy?Right!” This is the band’s motto and our contact with the world has been achieved.

In 2007 One Drop Forward get recorded by their sound engineer Stelios Tafis in Thessaloniki and then mixed by I-Mitri in Leicester, U.K. What occurred is the genesis of a 7’’ (seveninch) vinyl, released by “TCH records”, with the band’s dear friend Ranking Johnny as the producer. In this 7 EP one can find the original version of the track “Come one day” on side A and then it’s transition to a dub style track, “Dub one day”, on side B.

Our first LP album “We need knowledge” is recorded in 2008, by Stelios Tafis, at the “Rough” studios in Thessaloniki, produced by Professor Skank in his studio in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, and then mastered in Thessaloniki by Kostas Kontos. It finally gets released in 2011 by O.D.F., sealing a creative period of a great deal of studio work and many concerts all over Greece and abroad.

In 2014 O.D.F. get back to the studio and in 2015 they present their LP “Bird on a fence”. Songs written over the period between 2008-2014 are recorded for the first time, at the “Magnanimus” studios in Thessaloniki. This time, our sounds are mixed and produced exclusively by Dennis Konstantinidis and mastered by Christos Megas. The outcome is our so-called most mature and well-developed piece of work, sound-wise much as composition and arrangement- wise. It also includes a “Laternativa’’ song cover. In a symbolic way, this is the marking of a complete circle, a whole decade full of music and experiences for One Drop Forward.

We keep moving forward, working and travelling around Greece and out of it, spreading our sounds and vibes.
