Solar Music Library

Solar Music Library was founded in the spring of 2013 by Kappa (guitars, rec. loops, melodica, vocals), Soto-Moto (bass), Wonder Bra (drums) and Obi (guitars, rec. loops) in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece.

SML’s music draws inspiration from 1970s retro-type instrumental themes and/or the so-called library music scene with a Psych-Rock hard edge and a twist of “Plastic” Funk. Traces of Kraut-Rock, Surf music and Dream-Pop can also be found. The band that consist of 2 guitars, bass and drums is accompanied by various loops and pre-recorded keyboards, sounds from movies and occasionally by a guest vocalist. Their live performances contain video projections and led lights that interact with the sound in synchronization.

The group has been an opening act for bands such as Hawkwind and Vibravoid.

Οι Solar Music Library δημιουργήθηκαν την άνοιξη του 2013 από τους Kappa (guitars, rec. loops, melodica, vocals), Soto-Moto (bass), Wonder Boy (drums) και Obi (guitars, rec. loops) στην πόλη της Θεσσαλονίκης.

Η μουσική τους αντλεί έμπνευση από ρετρό μουσικά ιδιώματα και από την μεγάλη γκάμα των λεγόμενων ορχηστρικών Library Music κυκλοφοριών με μία αιχμηρή Psych–Rock πλευρά και μεγάλες δόσεις “Plastic” Funk. Ίχνη από Kraut–Rock, Surf–Rock και Dream–Pop είναι επίσης αισθητά. Το γκρουπ που αποτελείται κατά βάση από δύο κιθάρες, ένα μπάσο και ντραμς συνοδεύεται από προ-ηχογραφημένες μουσικές, συγχρονισμένα ηχητικά εφέ, ηχητικό υλικό ταινιών όπως κι από καλεσμένους τραγουδιστές. Οι ζωντανές τους εμφανίσεις συμπεριλαμβάνουν προβολές video που αλληλεπιδρούν με τη μουσική, όπως και συγχρονισμένα φώτα led.

Μεταξύ άλλων, το γκρουπ έχει ανοίξει συναυλίες των Hawkwind και των Vibravoid.
