Οι Neptune is Dead είναι ένα heavy rock, metal ‘n’ roll συγκρότημα από τη Θεσσαλονίκη, που ιδρύθηκε επίσημα τον Απρίλιο του 2018. Το συγκρότημα έπαιζε μαζί για λίγο το 2013, κάνοντας την πρώτη τους ζωντανή εμφάνιση, παίζοντας διασκευές συγκροτημάτων όπως Alice in Chains, Clutch, Kyuss, Red Fang κ.α. στη μουσική σκηνή “Fix in Art”.

Μετά από μια μακρά περίοδο παύσης, εμφανίστηκαν ζωντανά σε τοπικές σκηνές της πόλης, στην Ξάνθη καθώς και στο Αντιρατσιστικό Φεστιβάλ Θεσσαλονίκης. Το 2019 και σχεδόν 2 χρόνια μετά την έναρξη της διαδικασίας ηχογράφησης, παράλληλα με μια παγκόσμια καραντίνα, στις 21 Φεβρουαρίου 2021, κυκλοφόρησαν το αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους “Chronos”.

Ένας κράμα ήχων και επιρροών, με βαριές, βρώμικες κιθάρες και με έμφαση στη μελωδία, το “Chronos” ηχογραφήθηκε, μιξαρίστηκε και έγινε master στα Infected Studios στη Θεσσαλονίκη & Λιβαδειά από τον Γιώργο Στουρνάρα. Το κομμάτι “Narcissus in Vain” κυκλοφόρησε την 1η Δεκεμβρίου 2020 ως το πρώτο single του δίσκου μαζί με ένα βίντεο κλιπ που σκηνοθετήθηκε και γυρίστηκε από τον Δημήτρη Γεωργοσόπουλο. Το εξώφυλλο του άλμπουμ είναι μια αυθεντική ελαιογραφία της Ναταλίας Θανάσα, ενώ το υπόλοιπο εικαστικό του άλμπουμ σχεδιάστηκε από το Μάνθο Στεργίου (Manster Design).

Το συγκρότημα αποφάσισε να κυκλοφορήσει το άλμπουμ σε ψηφιακή και φυσική μορφή (περιορισμένα αντίτυπα 300 4panel Digipak CD) σε διάφορες δημοφιλείς πλατφόρμες (Bandcamp, Spotify κ.λπ.) έως ότου όλοι να είναι ασφαλείς και να μπορέσουν να απολαύσουν το άλμπουμ ζωντανά!

Neptune is Dead is a heavy rock, metal ‘n’ roll band from Thessaloniki, Greece, officially formed in April 2018. The band used to play together for a short time back in 2013, making their first live appearance, at a local cover bands event on the “Fix in Art” Music Stage.

After a long period of hiatus, they performed live in local scenes of the city as well as at the Thessaloniki Anti-Racism Festival. In 2019 and almost 2 years after they started the recording process, in parallel with a global quarantine, they released their self-funded debut album “Chronos”, on February 21, 2021.

A blending of sounds and influences with heavy and groovy guitars and with an emphasis on melody, “Chronos” was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Infected Studios in Thessaloniki & Leivadia by George Stournaras. The track “Narcissus in Vain” was independently released on December 1st, 2020 as the first single along with a video clip directed and filmed by Jim Georgosopoulos. The album cover is an original oil painting by Natalia Th. while the rest of the album artwork was designed by Manthos Stergiou (Manster Design).

The band decided to release the album in digital and physical format (limited copies of 300 4panel Digipak CDs) on various popular platforms (Bandcamp, Spotify, etc.) until everyone is all safe and enjoys the album live!
