Οι Million Hollers είναι ένα τρίο που σχηματίστηκε το 2011 στη Θεσσαλονίκη με κοινό τόπο των μελών από τη μία το μπλουζ και από την άλλη την αισθητική των συγκροτημάτων των 70s.
Hollers ονομάζονταν οι σκοποί που τραγουδούσαν οι σκλάβοι Αφροαμερικανοί στις βαμβακοφυτείες και στους αγρούς της Νότιας Αμερικής.
Η σημερινή έννοια της λέξης holler είναι η “κραυγή”.
Τα τραγούδια των Million Hollers είναι κι αυτά σαν κραυγές.
Έχουν κυκλοφορήσει ένα ομώνυμο 7ιντσο single (2013), το 10ιντσο “Once Upon A Whiskey” (2015) και μέσα στο 2020 το πρώτο full album τους που θα κυκλοφορήσει από την Mantra Records.
Million Hollers are a trio formed in Thessaloniki in 2011 with blues and the aesthetic of the 70s as the three members’ common ground.
Hollers were the work songs of the African slaves in the cotton plantations of the American south. Nowadays the word has the meaning of a loud cry or shout.
Million Hollers’ songs are like loud cries.
They have released a self-titled 7” inch single (2013), the 10” EP “Once upon a whiskey” (2015) and in 2020 they’re expecting their first full-length album to be released by Mantra Records.
