Once Upon A Winter is a Post-Rock/Blackgaze band from Thessaloniki, Greece. It started as the solo project of Ilias Kakanis, with the debut album released in 2017. The need to perform and present the music live, led to the assembling of the live line-up of Once Upon A Winter, in the fall of 2018. Until now, Once Upon A Winter have released 3 full length albums, the last two in co-operation with the Finnish record label Snow Wave record.

In October 2018, Once Upon A Winter performed as the opening act for God is an Astronaut (during the Epitaph tour), in Fix Factory of Sound, Thessaloniki.

In May 2019, Once Upon A Winter’s music was part of the theatrical play “Unborn Land”, receiving a cultural award from the Unesco Club of Pireus and Islands.

In November 2019, Once Upon A Winter completed the first European tour with Live Shows in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
Οι Once Upon A Winter είναι ένα Post-Rock/Blackgaze σχήμα από τη Θεσσαλονική. Ξεκίνησε ως το σόλο μουσικό project του Ηλία Κακανή, με το ντεμπούτο να κυκλοφορεί το 2017. Η ανάγκη για παρουσίαση αυτής της μουσικής ζωντανά, οδήγησε στη δημιουργία του πλήρες σχήματος το Φθινόπωρο του 2018. Μέχρι στιγμής οι Once Upon A Winter έχουν κυκλοφορήσει 3 δίσκους, με τους δύο τελευταίους να είναι σε συνεργασία με τη Φινλανδική δισκογραφική Snow Wave Records.
Σημαντικά γεγονότα:

Τον Οκτώβριο του 2018, οι Once Upon A Winter ήταν το opening act για τους God Is An Astronaut στο Fix Factory of Sound στη Θεσσαλονίκη.

Τον Μάιο του 2019, μουσική της μπάντας ήταν μέρος της θεατρικής παράστασης Αγέννητη Γη της Μαρίας Χρονιάρη, αποσπώντας έπαινο για προσφορά στον Πολιτισμό, από τον Όμιλο Unesco Πειραιώς και Νήσων.

Τον Νοέμβριο του 2019, η μπάντα ολοκλήρωσε την πρώτη Ευρωπαϊκή της περιοδεία με συναυλίες σε Γερμανία, Ελβετία, και Ιταλία.
