Influenza was formed in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2016 and although being a garage rock band at its core, the band mixes various genres along, such as surf and noise rock. In 2017 Influenza recorded and released their very first EP, titled “Symptoms”, which is the outcome of all these influences. However, the true power of the band lies in their live performances, which contain a range of dynamic, outgoing -as well as- soft and moody songs, having already played throughout Greece and planning their next step abroad.

What the band stands for can be traced in their lyrics, with them dangling upon classical 60’s rock ‘n’ roll themes such as love, as well as existential and social ones, based on everyday life. In other words, they want to have a good time and provoke while they ‘re at it.

Οι Influenza σχηματίστηκαν το 2016 με έδρα την Θεσσαλονίκη. Αν και η βάση της μουσικής τους είναι η garage rock, το συγκρότημα έχει επιρροές και από άλλα είδη όπως surf και noise rock. Αποτέλεσμα αυτού του συνδυασμού αποτελεί και το πρώτο EP της μπάντας με τίτλο “Symptoms” το 2017. Παρ’ όλα αυτά, η πραγματική δύναμη της μπάντας βρίσκεται στις ζωντανές εμφανίσεις της, οι οποίες κυμαίνονται από δυναμικά τραγούδια γεμάτα ενέργεια αλλά και πιο ήρεμα και σκοτεινά τραγούδια, κάτι που έχουν ήδη πραγματοποιήσει σε αρκετές πόλεις της Ελλάδας και πλέον στοχεύουν να κάνουν και στο εξωτερικό.

Ο χαρακτήρας της μπάντας εντοπίζεται στους στίχους της, οι οποίοι ασχολούνται με θέματα του κλασικού rock’n’roll του 1960, όπως η αγάπη, αλλά και πιο σύγχρονα, όπως υπαρξιακά και κοινωνικά ζητήματα βασισμένα στην καθημερινότητα. Με άλλα λόγια, θέλουν να διασκεδάσουν και να προκαλέσουν με την μουσική τους.
